Bricklayer & Sons
Portfolio-led build for a 3rd-gen masonry business. Project gallery + quote request flow. Booking pipeline tripled.
What they came to us with.
Three generations of masons and zero website. Bricklayer & Sons were doing strong residential and small-commercial work on word of mouth alone, but they kept losing commercial bids to newer outfits whose only real advantage was a portfolio you could find on Google. After 60 years in the trade, that was hard to stomach.
The decisions we made.
And why.
Mobile-first by default
Customers don't visit a trade site to admire it. They visit on a phone, looking for a phone number, in a hurry. Every layout decision started with the smallest screen first.
Speed as a feature
Hosted on Vercel's edge network. Hand-tuned bundle size. Sub-2-second first paint on cellular. A site that loads slow is a site customers abandon.
Local SEO baked in
Schema markup, Google Business profile, sitemap, OG cards, and location-specific landing pages. The site doesn't just look good, it shows up first when customers Google.
Owned, not rented
Domain in their name. Code in a repo they control. Hosting in their account if they want it. No platform lock-in, no monthly hostage situations.
In the box.
What happened next.
The first commercial RFP came in 11 days after launch, from a property manager who simply Googled them. The portfolio gallery quickly became the most-visited page on the site. Three months in, they hired a fourth mason to keep up with quote requests. The business now wins jobs they would not have been invited to bid on a year ago.

Twenty minutes on the phone is all it takes to find out if we’re the right team. If we’re not, we’ll say so.
We should have done this 20 years ago. The site sells the work in a way I never could in a phone call.
